Discover a delicious and healthy way to prepare salmon with our Sous Vide Maple Glazed Salmon with Asparagus recipe. This method ensures perfectly cooked fish every time, with a rich, sweet glaze that enhances its natural flavors. Paired with tender asparagus, it’s an elegant dish suitable for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

Begin by preparing the marinade for the salmon. In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, soy sauce, and Dijon mustard. Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper.

Place each salmon fillet in a vacuum-sealable bag and pour the marinade over the fish. Seal the bags, removing as much air as possible.

Preheat your sous vide water bath to 125°F (52°C). Submerge the bags in the water, ensuring they are fully submerged and not touching each other. Cook for 45 minutes.

While the salmon cooks, prepare the asparagus. Toss the asparagus with olive oil, salt, and pepper. You can grill, roast, or sauté the asparagus until tender, about 8-10 minutes.

Once the salmon is cooked, carefully remove the bags from the water. Remove the salmon fillets from the bags and pat dry gently. For a caramelized glaze, you can sear the salmon in a hot skillet for 1-2 minutes per side.

Serve the salmon alongside the cooked asparagus. Garnish with lemon wedges if desired for an extra burst of freshness.

Tips for Success

  • Use high-quality, fresh salmon for the best flavor.
  • Ensure the vacuum bags are sealed tightly to prevent water from entering.
  • Adjust cooking time for thicker or thinner fillets.
  • For a smoky flavor, add a dash of smoked paprika before sealing.

This sous vide method guarantees moist, flavorful salmon with a beautiful glaze. Paired with asparagus, it makes for a nutritious and impressive meal that highlights modern cooking techniques.
