Discover how to make a delicious Korean-style tofu and vegetable stir-fry with this easy step-by-step guide. Perfect for a quick, healthy meal packed with flavor and nutrients.

Ingredients Needed

  • 1 block of firm tofu
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup sliced bell peppers
  • 1 cup sliced zucchini
  • 1/2 cup sliced carrots
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish

Preparation Steps

1. Prepare the Tofu

Drain the tofu and pat it dry with a paper towel. Cut it into bite-sized cubes. To enhance crispiness, lightly coat the tofu with cornstarch if desired.

2. Cook the Tofu

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the tofu cubes and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.

3. Stir-fry the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add the remaining oil. Sauté garlic until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add bell peppers, zucchini, and carrots. Stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until vegetables are tender but still crisp.

4. Combine and Season

Return the cooked tofu to the skillet. Mix in soy sauce, sesame oil, and gochujang. Stir well to coat all ingredients evenly. Cook for another 2 minutes to blend flavors.

Serving Suggestions

Serve the Korean-style tofu and vegetable stir-fry hot, garnished with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. It pairs well with steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
