Ingredients Needed

  • 14 oz (400 g) firm tofu
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 1 zucchini, sliced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Preparation Steps

1. Prepare the Tofu

Drain the tofu and press it to remove excess moisture. Cut it into bite-sized cubes. Marinate the tofu with 1 tablespoon soy sauce and a teaspoon of sesame oil for about 10 minutes.

2. Cook the Tofu

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the tofu cubes and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.

3. Stir-fry the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add a little more oil if needed. Sauté garlic until fragrant, then add bell pepper, carrot, and zucchini. Cook for 3-5 minutes until vegetables are tender but still crisp.

4. Add the Sauce

Mix gochujang, sugar, and remaining soy sauce in a small bowl. Pour this sauce over the vegetables and stir well to coat evenly. Cook for another 2 minutes.

5. Combine and Serve

Add the cooked tofu back into the skillet. Toss everything together and cook for another minute. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot with steamed rice.
